Does it make you want to go back to the parents and ask what led them to go with that particular first name? My mom didn't want to name me Kate, which is what my Dad wanted to name me; my final name was a compromise. Speaking of my mom, she had a rather unusual first name, it came up in the 1500 range, too; oddly enough, so did my brother's first name. I got the more common first name.

Oh, I know how my name came about: my parents couldn't agree which name they like more so they bought a hyphen and smushed them together into a new one.
