Pray For Me; I Signed Up For NaNoWriMo

I've spent much of the day wondering if it was the right thing to do, and the rest of the day being kind of excited about it. (Some time was also spent reintroducing myself to various Discord channels. Wow ....) I have, through the NaNoWriMo site, joined a group here in Chicago that meets and does early (early for me, at least) 30-minute Zoom-enabled writing sprints. I figure that could be a good way to prepare for Nov. 1.

i have no idea how anyone does that thing. it takes me like six months to write the amount of words a nanowrimo writer has to do every day to reach 50,000. _@

That's my problem as well. I don't expect to get to 50,000, or even close to it; I just want to write more quickly and with more discipline than I do now. The "we'll see" is huge in this case.

Hurrah for you! I'm doing Nano again this year, too! I'd love to join an early Zoom write-in for the East Coast. Guess I'm going to have to poke around the site to find one.

If you go to the home page and click on the "Community" drop-down, down near the bottom, you'll find a find your region page. It looks as if there are a ton of East Coast regions, so something should pop up for you. Good luck!

(What's amazing to me is how global NaNo is at this point. Yes, most of the activity is in the U.S., but it is by no means the sole location.)

Yes, my Region is not doing much beyond a kick-off event before November, unfortunately. I may check out other east coast regions.

Well, that's no fun! Yeah, check out the other regions; hell, my region has folks who now live in the South, but who apparently once lived here in Chicago.

I have never attempted NaNoWriMo. Part of my problem is I can never seem to pick up here
I left off last when I try writing. Maybe I could try to write an anthology of 30 short stories? Just kidding, I would have to write 60 because I would need to start a new story after my lunch break.

Yep, that's exactly where I got it; I've rewatched that movie on many occasions (not quite enough to speak all the lines, but more than 5 times, ahem), and that's one of my favorite lines. Heh.

And now back to letting this thing eat my head!
