A Two-fer
The title means the lady's going to try two things at once:
1) Impress her friends with her ability to upload a picture. Because...whoah...mad skillz, neh?
2) Show the picture of her with new short hair. As is often the case with pictures, it shows, with brutal honesty, just how many, many pounds she has to pare from her frame. Ah, but the hair ... the hair ... *uses mad mental skillz to divert viewers' eyes from torso to tonsure*

I kinda like it, too! (And that had by no means been a foregone conclusion.) The young man who tidied up my geometrically challenged initial cut also turned out to be a comic book fan, who liked many of the same titles BB and I do, so we all had quite a nice conversation as he did his excellent work.

I was surprised by just how much my face changed shape when I dropped a good chunk of weight in 2007-2008. Now that the weight is doing its best to creep back on, I'm noticing the facial differences more than I did the first time around.

Heh. I think you've seen me with short hair before; in 1985 and 1986, since we damned near shaved it off when Andy was about two months old. Since then, however, it's grown steadily, with only inch cuts to trim split ends.

And hair does grow back; I didn't get bangs precisely because, once I decide to grow it back (and I will, knowing my own essentially "long hair" bent), I'll want it all the same length.

Well, my hair has bounced about the red section of the spectrum, since I've never minded playing with my quite gleefully artificial tresses. It could well have been lighter, or more gold, or darker, when we last saw each other. I highly doubt it's your memory!

Thanks! If you look above my head, you'll see a row of guitars hanging on a wall. BB took the shot just outside his favorite guitar shop, where we'd gone so that he could drool over 1900-vintage Gibson guitars, some ukeleles and banjos, and the odd Rickenbacker. Physical stress can do that - people can see their hair change color, or texture (straight to curly, curly to straight, that sort of thing.)

Thanks - I wish the picture had shown more of my motorcycle jacket (which should, properly speaking, be referred to as a non-motorcycling jacket, since I don't own or ride a motorbike); BB and FB gave it to me as a Christmas present back about 16 or so years ago. It's way cool.
