So Today ...

• Brexit took place.
• The U.S. Senate voted - narrowly, and with two GOP Senators voting against it - to hide their eyes and not hear from witnesses.
• And I discovered purely by accident, that an old friend, with whom I'd kept in touch only by Christmas and holiday cards, died last July. Folks, don't let friendships become once a year things.

Thanks. We were very close years ago - I met her at a World Science Fiction convention, and loved her dearly. She was a polymath who wrote wonderful stories, who sang, who was a specialist on Renaissance costuming ... and most of all was funny, kind, sharp-edged, and beautiful. I wish I'd been a better friend, and I hope that she is in the summerlands with others she and I knew and cared for. If so, perhaps I'll see her again, and can apologize for being an idiot.

Thanks. She was a remarkable woman, and I'll never lose the memories. She it was in whose LA home I was to bunk while looking for a job; instead, I found Bob. She came to visit us years later, and we had a wonderful time.
