Yes, I did see, and of the year of DW specials that might have been eligible for consideration, that was definitely the best one, with some concepts that were really worth chewing on, and some excellent acting (even some by Tennant, who isn't my fave Doctor or my fave actor.) I don't know what it was up against, though.
I think the color is what I called turquoise in my far off youth. These days, they probably call it teal, but if it is, it's farther toward the green end of the teal spectrum than the blue. I find it fairly soothing.
