I couldn't vote today because I'm a registered independent and NY is a closed primary state, which apparently means to vote I had to switch my affiliation for the primary, and then I could switch back afterwards. Which, on top of being a pain in the ass, is something I didn't even know was an issue until my mother mentioned it on Sunday. At which point it was too late to do anything about anything.
