Goodbye and Hello

I'm heading off to a party to see out 2008, and I wanted to make one last posting before the year fades to a close.
It's been a hell of a year, and I leave it to all of you to determine what that means. But I hope each of you has found some heaven in it, or at least some love. And may we all do something - anything - to make 2009 better for ourselves, for our children or our friends, for our neighbors, for the people who need help. May we not have nightmares, or may we fight them off if we have them. May we control our anger, cherish our happiness, avoid spreading the former, and work on spreading the latter. Let us be honest, kind, brave and silly in equal parts. Let us be good men and women, even when it's hard to be either.
