So I'm on my way to Manitoulin Island, via Sudbury, Ont., to attend the Friday interment of my dad's sister Barbara Marion. She died in 2021, but interment of her ashes wasn't scheduled until now. My brother Mac, who has kept in touch with Dad's side of the family for years, unleashed his magic superpower on me - he steamrolled over my objections to going, and paid for my airline tickets. (I think I've told folks before that he is both irresistible force and immovable object. It was foolish of me to even try to resist.)
