Heh ... you might like the other Chicago pizza, known as tavern style pizza; flat, with a pretty crispy crust, cut into small squares to serve as many people as possible. It got its start in taverns, hence the name. I like that style, too, but my heart belongs to deep dish.
(Stateside, the arguments for and against deep dish can rise to the level of religious fervor; I largely stay out of it, and just enjoy the food.)
