Not Dead, Not Even Really Sleeping

It's just that I'm not doing much at all, or at least it seems that way. 

In what I suppose I can call some sort of victory, I finally finished my 2015 fandom_stocking  stories. 

You read that correctly. My 2015 stories. As fandom_stocking  2016 is well underway. 

Sweet weeping god of fanfic on a rubber crutch. 

Tomorrow, I have another endoscopy, to see if the infection I had in my throat has been taken care of. I'm going to head for bed, but first? I guess I'll upload that last 2015 story and alert its recipient. Who may well be bemused, amused, and confused. 

Then it's on to this year!

That's a good thing to remember. Today, however, I've set a 20-card goal for myself. Yee-ha! (Also, although I think I have it, I'm going to PM you about an address.)

It was swift and simple. On the downside, it shows (TMI warning), that the inner lining of my esophagus is sloughing off. Biopsies have been taken, and my very confused GI doc (who is very good), will let me know what's she's found out. The scleroderma appears to have stiffened up the esophagus, so I'm not properly getting rid of saliva in the throat. I asked if my GERD, coupled with the inability to clear the esophagus, might be the reason for the sloughing. She didn't think so.

... aaaaand that's probably TfuckingMI....

There is no such thing as TMI in my profession, my lovely! I am glad the procedure was swift and simple at least - I hope some good solutions follow. *hugs*

I actually do send some folks e-cards, because some folks don't have easily accessible snail mail addresses. I'm kind of fond of Jacquie Lawson cards, as cheesy as they are.

She seems to have sort of a group of dog and cat characters who show up again and again in her cards. It's kind of endearing.

As long as they were bemused in a good way (and I think they were), I'm satisfied. But I really do need to work on my timeliness. I do believe I will be late for my own funeral. Which might be a good thing, viewed one way, but not so much in any other way.

The endoscopy was ... interesting. It went really, really well, but its findings appear to have flummoxed my doctor, ever so slightly. The ailment may end up being chronic, in which case I suppose I must deal with it. Another issue showed up, biopsies were taken and I shall find out what they mean shortly after she finds out.

On the other hand, I got a sweet little blue satin pillow filled with lavender for my troubles; my doctor gives them out to her patients when they undergo potentially unpleasant invasive procedures. It smells lovely!

LOL, you're talking to the person who hasn't finished your Fandom Stocking present from last year yet! But good luck with being more timely if you want to be. (Although being late for your own funeral might be a cunning live-forever plan?)

I'm sorry about the results, though - here's hoping that whatever they find is treatable, or perhaps even a false alarm. *hugs*

Treatable may be the best thing to hope for, so that's what I'm hoping I'll hear from her. (Although one thing she found in my esophagus was TMI-enough to make both me and her a little creeped out. Again, we shall see, in about 10 days.

Heh ... I think the last person I knew who had a cunning plan was Blackadder's more-or-less-loyal henchman.

I'm glad you enjoyed the story!

The infection hasn't gone, but may be quite manageable as something caused by what appears to be a chronic esophageal situation. I can probably deal with it, although some new problems surfaced, about which we shall know more when test results are back.

It feels good to be able to send off cards. Ideally I think I'd be sending out about 50, but I'll be happy if I can get out 20-25.

I used to send out so many cards. After a while, I realized I was getting fewer and fewer back each year, so I started paring down my list. I used to send around 40... now it's closer to 25-30, and next year I'm thinking it will be even fewer. I hate to be cranky and cynical, but sometimes you have to Marie Kondo people as well as things.

But then there's always the happiness of adding new people to the list, like you. : )
