Dept. of self-pimping for a good cause: Haiti is still in agony in the aftermath of the Jan. 12 earthquake, and every bit of help you and I can donate will help, at least a little, to alleviate that agony. One of the remarkable fannish efforts to help can be found at

I have offered to write two stories of between 1-3,000 words (or to substitute an essay on anything Whoniversal) for whoever bids highest for my services.
I'm tickled to see that a few folks have taken me up, increasing the potential take for aid organizations, but if you'd like to jump in, now is the time, because bidding is scheduled to end tomorrow (Jan. 20) at noon, EST. To sweeten the offer, I'm willing to expand my offering, and provide one story for the bidder coming in second.
If my stuff's not your cup of tea, don't worry. There are some truly remarkable DW fic writers, artists and editors offering their services. What's more, there are similar offerings from other fandoms — television shows, anime, various book!verses and more. There are also loads of interesting auction offerings that don't fall under any easy categorization.
Go! Look! Browse! Bid! Help Haiti!
And thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
