Today I Made Pumpkin Pie

And I successfully used up some leftovers in the fridge to make a decent fettuccine dish for supper. These are both successes. And I realized that something I thought I had to get done in three days was actually something I don't have to get done for 9 days. That's lagniappe. 

I also listened to a lot of Joe Hisaishi music. And now I'm going to bed, knowing I don't have to get up early in the morning. That's the best part. 

No, perhaps tomorrow will be the best part.

Thanks - I slept very well; now I'm deciding what to do with my Sunday, although I'm still essentially in my jammies. I think that's just fine for a Sunday start.

I never really got the whole idea of pyjamas. As soon as I was old enough to not be dressed by a parent/grandparent (and by old enough I mean a very early age indeed) I slept in my much older half-brother's shirts or t-shirts and have continued sleeping in t-shirts, husband-shirts, skin or whatever I happen to be wearing on the day, if I can't be arsed to undress. I did this in colder climates and I still do it in this warm one. Works for me :-)

This is a house of illness and has been for several months now - in addition to the my-version-of-normal immune disorder, I've been the recipient of a suite of respiratory bugs that all of us (friends, friends' parents, friends' children) keep passing back and forth, while my Dearly Beloved has developed an immune disorder of his own that's much rarer (though better understood) than mine and the new immune suppressants he's just started taking mean he's even more susceptible to said suite of back-and-forth bugs - so given that today I actually feel fairly good apart from lungs full of mucus and being half-deaf from blocked ears that are part of the bug(s), I'm counting it as a win :D

Oh, "jammies" is a figure of speech. I only wear jammies when I get up. I don't wear anything when I'm in bed.

Immune disorders suck, whether rare or not-so-rare. Sorry to hear your household has garnered another one. And having all the ailments on top? Yeah, extra good wishes from this side of the Pacific.

Belated thankee for the good wishes! I ended up being ridiculously not-well, so much that I couldn't work for several days. At least I'm back to just having the mother of all head colds now and back at work, although this bug is far from having run its course - I swear some bloke in a boat full of paired-off animals just sailed down the back of my throat...

I love pumpkin pie, and this pie went particularly well, especially the crust (which I normally have difficulty with.)

As for lagniappe, here's a good definition. It means "a good extra" in my books.
