Passed, and Almost Over
Many happy returns of the day to friends I'm lucky to know. (And even those whose birthdays have passed - well, consider this my wish that the days after your actual birthday were just as good, or even better.)
To
rmjwell , an aficionado of bodies, dance, photography and incisive thoughts and comments, many happy returns of Oct. 4 - may it have been an excellent day, with family and friends around you. It was a joy to get to know you all those years ago when you were a Midwesterner, and I still look forward to the day when you're able to come east from the Left Coast to visit.
To
supergee , who was the very first person to suggest to me, via his own activity, that one could enjoy a lively social and mental life via online journaling, a very happy birthday today (at least there are still a few hours in Oct. 6.) You were always a master of both brevity and, when necessary, extended essaying. I valued that as far back as the old rasff days on Usenet of blessed memory. I tried to learn from your example, and occasionally I do well at it. Many happy returns of the day.
And finally, to
heatherbelles , who is now well on her way to Oct. 7 - I'm told that your Oct. 6 was very good, filled with family, as well as an excellent curry. Huzzah! Although our communication is much less regular than when TWoP was a thing, I'm so glad that I came to know you there. I learned about history, how to look at history, and how to help other people look at it, thanks to you. And of course, we shared a love of Dr. Who that I think we still share. I am glad to have met you, and hope that we continue to stay in touch in some fashion.
Many happy returns of the day to friends I'm lucky to know. (And even those whose birthdays have passed - well, consider this my wish that the days after your actual birthday were just as good, or even better.)
