Further Progress

I was finally able to touch base with the realtor that my building neighbor introduced; we're looking at setting up a walk through of the condo sometime next week. I also set up a Friday appointment with a bathroom designer who will give us a free estimate of what it might cost to upgrade our bathroom.

Go you, indeed!

I consider it rather ironic that people tend not to renovate their houses until there're about to leave them... I mean, yes, I understand why people do that, but it is still ironic and somewhat sad that people spend all this money and don't get to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

I understand that feeling very well, since I've occasionally thought it. In our case, I'm looking (or at least trying to look) at this as a win-win, since we've long needed a bathroom upgrade. It should improve the condo's saleability at a good price and, if we wind up having to stay here, we'll benefit from it.

I remember my sister and brother-in-law would go through this every time they would sell a house. Often it was a case of my brother-in-law doing the rough work early on but not finishing it until it was time to sell and move. I think part was when their boys (very rough and tumble) were growing up, stuff would get destroyed.
