Dept. of Signal Boosting
Monday, 16 December 2019 09:12 pmSometimes You Have to Leap
And sometimes the leap can be almost as dangerous as not leaping.
a_phoenixdragon and her family have had to make the decision to leap, at what is probably the most ridiculously awful time of year to be forced to do so.
At this time of year, we all run the risk of suffering empathy and sympathy burnout, of compassion fatigue. And many folks on my f'list have undoubtedly reached out to help. I hope that, if you can, and haven't had the chance to do so yet, that you check out her GoFundMe.
I've had the distinct pleasure of meeting her in person. I know how hard she and her husband work, every day. I know how much they love each other and their kids. I know how hard they are trying to turn their lives around. And I know that the process of doing so is almost always, of necessity, a long and bumpy one.
If you can help, I would be grateful. Help includes signal boosting if your wallet is thin, which a number of y'all have already done, and for which I thank you.
