The Village Idiot Turns His Eyes to Canada. Again. 

And got a poke in the eye with a sharp stick, from the economic negotiations team that Prime Minister Mark Carney ordered back to Ottawa after the U.S. team, led by the incompetent Howard Lutnick, tried to slip some new conditions into an almost-completed agreement that would have lowered some of the ridiculous tariffs on things like steel. The negotiations collapsed like a pile of wet cards. 

As Carney said in his press conference, which I watched, those last-minute demands included the U.S. insistence that Canada not make trade agreements with other countries, and similar moronic demands. They offered us too little and demanded too much of us, Carney said. Then he said Canada would match That Man's tariffs dollar for dollar. 

Now the village idiot s whining and bellowing and doing everything a spoiled two-year-old would do when told that he has to go to bed and stop playing with his economic toys. 

The result, a further crack in our old relationship with the U.S.

I'm so sorry for Canada for having to deal with that idiot and us in the US for having to deal with it everyday. Go Carney! for sticking it right where he should.

I thought that last year's Canadian election would put paid to That Man's obsession with us, but I forgot that at least a major part of any action he takes these days is to divert attention from a) the Epstein Files and more importantly, b) his ham-handed effort to either stop the November mid-terms or fix them so Republicans are the only winners, and democracy is the loser.

I have never wished so hard for someone's removal by any possible means.

And three cheers for Canada for finally standing up to the escalating extortion attempts. The rest of the world is watching, and I hope they are emboldened to do the same thing.

This is absolutely the truth. Carney looks and talks like a boring middle-aged banker, but he wields the cold calculation that good bankers specialize in, and he isn't going to back down.
